Stairs (This turned out to be a therapy shot! I was feeling kind of blah- blue or in this case grey. When I fisrt saw this on the computer, I like dthe lines and textures but just decided to fiddle. The flower had cheered me up as well as the shot)

Risking His Life for a Thrill (The little crazy man who is looking down from just above the lava that explodes as it hits the water and might at any moment undermine the surface that it is coming from went way past the fences that are meant to keep people off the most dangerous areas. I was aghast! But he does provide a great sense of scale for my photo. For me, it was a sufficient thrill to stand where I was! This shot was taken at about 4 AM despite what my camera says...I forgot to change the time setting for HI's time zone.)

Osprey Ready To Take Off (I watched this pair of osprey for a long time. First they were both sitting in the tree above their nest. Then the male flew off and returned with a small stick for the nest. Then he flew off again and the female hung out. Then he returned and they mated for a very long time. Then he flew off again and she turned on the branch and eventually flew into the nest. Then she called and called to him to bring her food. Eventually he flew back with a fish and perched on a nearby tree and devoured the fish without sharing any. She kept calling. I wonder if that's why they abandoned the nest in the next days?)
