Silly Oregon Planet Convergence
I was more than ready to shot the convergence on Solstice but the weather didn't cooperate, so I added the convergence of bathroom light and its reflection to a shot of the spot I wanted to see and photograph the convergence
SIltcoos Stars and Planets
Before they really came close together
Slow Foam and Surf
I'm taking a photography course through the Photographic Society of America and one of my assignments was to shoot using long shutter speed. I liked the way the foam that was there that day formed swirls
Stars and Planets Just Past Sunset
The stars aren't as sharp as I would have liked because my hands were freezing by the time the stars came out and the person I was with was in a hurry to leave
Stream Is Full
We had 7 1/2 " of rain in about 4 days and our little stream was full
Sunny Day Lighthouse
I'm taking a photography course through the Photographic Society of America and one of my assignments was to demonstrate my understanding of using depth of field. Here I used a narrow aperture so as to have the whole shot in good focus.
Thor's well
I was wanting to shoot the Milky Way using my new toy...a star tracking device...and wanted an interesting foreground. Jim and I climbed down the stairway and paths to the viewpoint of Thor's Well. Thor's Well is a local blow hole which is very dangerous to shoot up close. Both camera gear and photographers have been lost there with sneaker waves. I have no interest in risking my life so we stayed safely back and I ended up liking the little river better as a foreground than the blow hole
Thors Well Milky Way A Slightly Different Perspective
I was wanting to shoot the Milky Way using my new toy...a star tracking device...and wanted an interesting foreground. Jim and I climbed down the stairway and paths to the viewpoint of Thor's Well. Thor's Well is a local blow hole which is very dangerous to shoot up close. Both camera gear and photographers have been lost there with sneaker waves. I have no interest in risking my life so we stayed safely back and I ended up liking the little river better as a foreground than the blow hole
Three Harriers
We took a day trip to Finley Reserve and got to watch 4 harriers hunting over the meadows. I wasn't able to get all four in the same shot but I was pleased getting three
Unknown Bird
Not a great shot but if anyone knows who it is, I'd love to know. Taken at Finley Reserve
What Would You Do With
There is a challenge on one of the photography sites I post to where they give you a photo and you edit it in a creative way. The original was the trees and the structure and I decided to create a tsunami
Annas Stretching Her Tongue for Bugs
It was raining and there were lots of bugs
Avocado
I'm taking a photography course through the Photographic Society of America and one of my assignments was to demonstrate my understanding of using depth of field. Here I used a wide aperture to create focus just on the stem end
Bald Eagle Flying
On the South Jetty trail
Bald Eagle Taking Off
Walking one early morning at Washburne beach, Jim noticed a bald eagle sitting in a tree a long ways down the beach. I shot at a distance and then more as I got closer. When I was just below the tree, I saw him move his bowels and knew he was about to fly. I got a bunch of shots as he flew off...in some his wings got cut off because he was too close for the focal length!
Buddha with Ring
I'm taking a photography course through the Photographic Society of America and one of my assignments was to demonstrate my understanding of using depth of field. Here I used wide aperture to focus the attention on the ring and have the stature be more blurry
Bufflehead
Waxmyrtle Trail
Bufflehead Gathering
A friend let me know that the fields south of town were flooded and had lots of birds. Unfortunately they were too far away for good shots
Bufflehead In Flight Reflected
Waxmyrtle trail

A friend let me know that the fields south of town were flooded and had lots of birds. Unfortunately they were too far away for good shots
Eagle On His Tree
Walking one early morning at Washburne beach, Jim noticed a bald eagle sitting in a tree a long ways down the beach. I shot at a distance and then more as I got closer.
Embosser
I'm taking a photography course through the Photographic Society of America and one of my assignments was to demonstrate my understanding of using depth of field. Here I used a wide aperture to focus attention on the tip of the embosser
Eyes Right To Watch the Takeoff
On a pond South of Gardiner
Fallen Extended Canvas 2020
I really liked this shot when I took it on a bitter cold foggy day on a volcano in Hawaii and went back to reedit it
Fog At Sunset
Taken at home when I saw the eerie colored light
Fog Over the Railroad Bridge
South of Gardiner
Gyanyin with Textures
Just for fun
Holman Stars
This time of year it gets dark early enough for me to still be awake but it isn't very often that the nights have clear skies. This night was!
Hooded Merganzers
A friend let me know that the fields south of town were flooded and had lots of birds. Unfortunately they were too far away for good shots
