Silly Oregon Planet Convergence
I was more than ready to shot the convergence on Solstice but the weather didn't cooperate, so I added the convergence of bathroom light and its reflection to a shot of the spot I wanted to see and photograph the convergence

Stars and Planets Just Past Sunset
The stars aren't as sharp as I would have liked because my hands were freezing by the time the stars came out and the person I was with was in a hurry to leave

Sunny Day Lighthouse
I'm taking a photography course through the Photographic Society of America and one of my assignments was to demonstrate my understanding of using depth of field. Here I used a narrow aperture so as to have the whole shot in good focus.

Thor's well
I was wanting to shoot the Milky Way using my new toy...a star tracking device...and wanted an interesting foreground. Jim and I climbed down the stairway and paths to the viewpoint of Thor's Well. Thor's Well is a local blow hole which is very dangerous to shoot up close. Both camera gear and photographers have been lost there with sneaker waves. I have no interest in risking my life so we stayed safely back and I ended up liking the little river better as a foreground than the blow hole

Three Harriers
We took a day trip to Finley Reserve and got to watch 4 harriers hunting over the meadows. I wasn't able to get all four in the same shot but I was pleased getting three

What Would You Do With
There is a challenge on one of the photography sites I post to where they give you a photo and you edit it in a creative way. The original was the trees and the structure and I decided to create a tsunami

Love the iridescence and the sense that this little bird has a BIG personality. |
Avocado
I'm taking a photography course through the Photographic Society of America and one of my assignments was to demonstrate my understanding of using depth of field. Here I used a wide aperture to create focus just on the stem end

Bald Eagle Taking Off
Walking one early morning at Washburne beach, Jim noticed a bald eagle sitting in a tree a long ways down the beach. I shot at a distance and then more as I got closer. When I was just below the tree, I saw him move his bowels and knew he was about to fly. I got a bunch of shots as he flew off...in some his wings got cut off because he was too close for the focal length!
