I took a free photo class to start the year and our first assignment was to pick our favorite photos from the year before. Here they are

We've had a run of rain and thick overcast skies, so I've spent much of my photography time this month in going back through old photos and editing them.This was taken one Spring when the eagles were abundant enjoying placentas from new baby lambs.

There have been several high surf days at Shore Acres

From the archives. This was taken at a fabulous observatory near Death Valley. Unfortunately this observatory has lost its funding and is now closed but it was a thrill to photograph there amongst the huge telescopes

We've had quite the month for high surf. This is looking down at Thor's Well... a popular spot for photographer's to risk losing life and camera gear for the perfect shot.

Jim and I went to the Charleston Marine Museum for my birthday and I really liked the sea turtle skeleton

We've had three Annas hummingbirds overwinter here this year

Jim and Black Pearl and I found a new hike on a day when the sun actually came out. I was really tickled with all the beautiful sun rays

From the archives. Unfortunately this white egret rookery is no longer here. People didn't like the effect of the egret and cormorant poop on the trees and chased them off.

I was taking photos of Pearl and the camera "raincoat" blew out of my bag and went flying at 30 mph down the beach. She retrieved it three times for me before she waited for me to get it from her before letting go!
