Death Valley
From down by Jim's pond
Added a bit of texture to get rid of background distractions
I enjoy shooting the full moon rising. We had a week of a lot of smoke from the fires East of us which made for more color in the moon
The morning after the moon rising shot
I just thought it was pretty
We went to a fabulous tide pool adventure led by the McKenzie River Trust. We learned how a starfish eats a mussel. First it squeezes it open, then inserts its stomach into the shell where digestive chemicals break down the mussel, and then withdraws the stomach back into its body
We went to a fabulous tide pool adventure led by the McKenzie River Trust. Apparently starfish can re grow their legs
We went to a fabulous tide pool adventure led by the McKenzie River Trust. Bede has told us that they've been studying the adherence of starfish to learn better ways of sealing up surgical wounds
We went to a fabulous tide pool adventure led by the McKenzie River Trust. There has been a huge kill off of starfish over the past maybe 5 years d/t wasting disease as seen here. Thankfully the starfish are coming back healthy
Seen on an early morning hike at Washburne Beach
I am so distressed by what has been happening in Ukraine that I've spent some nights awake. During one of them, I created this in my mind combining fallen soldiers with shots of PNW "Stonehenge". Our "Stonehenge" was designed by a Quaker who was dismayed seeing the ravages of WW 1 and decided to create a memorial
This lichen on the rocks at Bob Creek Beach reminded me of some of Georgia O'Keefe's flowers
Near Jim's pnd
All the rufous have left but we have three Annas still here. I'm hoping they will overwinter with us
In our yard
Washburne Beach
From our tide pool expedition at Bob Creek Wayside
Sometimes cloud patterns stop me in my tracks
In Jim's flower garden
They sure are hard to photograph
Siltcoos Outlet is finally open to photograph after being closed off for Snowy Plover nesting since April
Some dandelion macro
Driving up to the trailhead
We were driving out the driveway for an early morning hike and saw the fog covering the lower areas as the sun colored the sky
Looking South from Sea Lion Caves
Caught my eye on the trail
It was about 8" across!
Nice to have the marine layer lift for a few sunsets
Nice to have the marine layer lift for a few sunsets
Walking up our driveway for Pearl's evening walk
On the horse trails
My favorite rose had 8 blooms at once!
Finally the Milky Way is visible while I am still awake
Finally the Milky Way is visible while I am still awake
Bob Creek Wayside low tide
We only had about 10 peaches this year because of too much rain during the Spring but we sure enjoyed the ones we had
Washburne Beach on an overcast morning
