I am so distressed by what has been happening in Ukraine that I've spent some nights awake. During one of them, I created this in my mind combining fallen soldiers with shots of PNW "Stonehenge". Our "Stonehenge" was designed by a Quaker who was dismayed seeing the ravages of WW 1 and decided to create a memorial
Starfish Eating Mussel
We went to a fabulous tide pool adventure led by the McKenzie River Trust. We learned how a starfish eats a mussel. First it squeezes it open, then inserts its stomach into the shell where digestive chemicals break down the mussel, and then withdraws the stomach back into its body
