Clearing the Dune Grass (A surprise found on Waxmyrtle Beach. They are digging out acres of beach grass to provide safe nesting grounds for endangered snowy plover)
Crossbills Gathering Pine Nuts (Jim looked out the bathroom window and saw the branches on a huge spruce tree moving and saw this little beauty. Of course I went for my camera. It was fascinating watching how they twisted the pine nuts out of the cones. I was amazed how bright and gaudy he was given it isn't breeding season)
