Death Valley
Jim read a book "Death in Yellowstone" after we returned and learned that many people die going off the walkways because the thermals keep moving and are unpredictable...sometimes comfortable warm, sometimes horrendously hot
From our last day in Mammoth after it snowed
No time to get anywhere else to see it

Loved the light on the stream. Taken on the snow coach ride between Mammoth and Old Faithful area
On a long hike on our last day
I thought this looked so amazingly different with the snow falling making the colors more pale
We went out to take Pearl for her before bed walk and came back in only to find this little tree frog climbing up the kitchen door
They look so trudging and slow...unless they get disturbed and then they can run 35 MPH!
It was such a treat to see trumpeter swans
Pearl and her best friend Abby found this rope on a hike and knew just what to do with it
Love their expressions
Taken at Waite Ranch and composited
As we hiked around on our last day
Finley Wildlife reserve
Before the beautiful color came
Since we don't get much snow here, I was often transfixed
Before the removal of the sign
I loved the big wide meadows
We've had a lot of rainy weather so when It looked hopeful at the last minute that there would be a good sunset, I went down to the dunes behind Fred Meyers
Beautiful morning as we were waiting for the shuttle back to the airport in Bozeman after a wonderful trip
I spent a sunny beautiful afternoon at Finley Wildlife Reserve
In the midst of a mostly monotone winter environment, there were frequent colorful surprises

Such an incredible wildllife adventure
He looks as if he is in the midst of his last Winter
Just having fun with Photoshop
We saw bison everywhere
Such wide open spaces
The light, shadows, lines in a monotone environment caught my attention
I spent a sunny beautiful afternoon at Finley Wildlife Reserve

In the Old Faithful area of Yellowstone we saw geysers, mud pots, and pools

I saw the shape of Castle Geyser from a ways down the boardwalk and wanted to see it closer. As we approached, it erupted
On a hike with a friend in Florence
I went out in the yard wanting to photograph flickers but they were nowhere to be seen. This little chipmunk came out to tease Pearl
Our last morning just before heading home
I spent a sunny beautiful afternoon at Finley Wildlife Reserve
Pearl's best friend Abby's mom just posted their new loveseat taken over by Abby. So here is Pearl who seems to feel that the fancy love seat that we finally bought at Terry's encouragement is hers!
Apparently this kind of frost is created by gasses freezing. Rhime frost I think.
Cold and windy and rainy but Pearl and I and this kite flying woman weren't going to be stopped
Foggy, rainy cold day.
