A_Few_Stars_Came_Out_at_Kilauea_Volcano
It rained the whole time we were at the volcano but we set our alarm for 2 AM hoping I'd be able to shoot the Milky Way over the caldera. No Milky Way visible in the mist but a few stars managed to pop out for about 5 minutes!

Osprey Ready To Take Off
I watched this pair of osprey for a long time. First they were both sitting in the tree above their nest. Then the male flew off and returned with a small stick for the nest. Then he flew off again and the female hung out. Then he returned and they mated for a very long time. Then he flew off again and she turned on the branch and eventually flew into the nest. Then she called and called to him to bring her food. Eventually he flew back with a fish and perched on a nearby tree and devoured the fish without sharing any. She kept calling. I wonder if that's why they abandoned the nest in the next days?

She came from Chicago to OR for a niece's graduation which go her in the PNW before the canola fields bloomed with their bright yellow adding contrast to the rolling green hills. But we had wonderful cloud patterns and I decided to experiment more with black and white
